The Unexpected
Acrylic, oil pastel, and pitt pen on 10x14" canvas board
Unexpected things always come...some are good...some are bad. I like the good ones....they are much more fun.
Here's to those good unexpected things.
I treasure your visits on this blog. I am one artist among a HUGE sea of talented people on this planet. The fact that you would look at my humble creations and even like them has been most unexpected for me.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
What unexpected things have you encountered lately? |
And you are most welcome!! Visiting your blog...and your paintings make my day!! Unexpected things...or just little things...like how one of my images that I didn't think much about is getting more "likes" than I expected!! Makes me smile!!
ReplyDeleteI love visiting here, it always brings me joy! And as for this painting, it's gorgeous and I really like the message of things unexpected.

Unexpected beauty, original thoughts and paintings that I find here. You have made my day with your art.
ReplyDeleteI love this! Love the premise, the colors and the style... and isn't that coat divine???
ReplyDeleteThis artwork is amazing! I just started my own blog, which I may show some of my art on, and your work is an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLisa, you are so talented and your paintings express so much! I love coming here to see what you come up with next! Unexpected? Well, I'm still blown away by the kindness from strangers I've run into around my new town. Also, being in a neighborhood where neighbors share things from their gardens, a good morning hello for the deck while watering plants, and tickets to a Mariners game! It's just so different from the life I lived in Vegas.
ReplyDeleteI love to see all the variety of colors and patterns when I visit your blog, Lisa...always something unique!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a very sweet and talented lady, you make me smile! That is why I keep coming back to see what you have to share on your blog. I love to get smile from strangers
ReplyDeleteThat was supposed to say i love an unexpected smile from strangers passing by. My fingers are too big for my iPhone lol. Manonx x
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post Lisa. I like an unexpected kiss from my hubby, an unexpected lick from my dogs, an unexpected act of kindness from a stranger...
ReplyDeleteanother beauty! love the title .. and the little letter waiting for her. do you think it is a long lost love?
ReplyDeleteAaawww this is great. You do not want the lines to be so straight unless you are going for a realistic image. My oil paintings have crooked lines. Hehehe. I only try to draw straight lines if I am in the mood for perfection, even then it turns out imperfect. Perfectly imperfect! I love this painting. What a pleasant impression. Oh and unexpected, let's see...none for me today except I am irritated by incompetent people. Oh yes, it has been raining frequently here so they declared the drought officially over. :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWhimsical, lovely and enchanting! I wonder what's in that envelope?
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to have stumbled upon your art, it's always wonderful to see what your latest creation is.
The unexpected guest, the unexpected letter, or the unexpected coat?
ReplyDeleteFor us to decide!
xx

ReplyDeleteI find unexpected surprises in my quest for photos every day. This morning it was to discover another beautiful cactus flower in the garden!
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful! love the chair too!
ReplyDeleteI love this painting! I want to know what is in the envelope! Thanks for visiting my blog. I always love it when you come to visit.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful Lisa.
ReplyDeleteLove all the details on it!
I came to get my "Lisa fix for the day" and you did not disappoint.
ReplyDeleteMore interesting things to ponder. I love the direct gaze as she enters. I like her!
Another fabulous painting my friend. This one has me smiling.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many sweet people here an the internet.. Who Knew..
For me it has to be that Hubby came home last night and out of the blue said lets go camping. So I spent the day packing and grocery shopping and getting ready.. This time we will be in our tent. Not our trailer. Should be an adventure.
Hugs~
Your people have such marelous clothes! Great new piece. xox
ReplyDeleteWhat an emotional painting, I can just feel the thrill of surprise when the lady sees the letter. You are really talented. It doesn't matter that there are so many other artists, everyone is different and you certainly have something special.
ReplyDeletegood painting..good post. I agree, it is amazing that people visit blogs--there are zillions of them. My unexpected thing is that I found someone on YouTube...thought he was amazing and so forth, and it turns out that he lives near me. "small world"!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very interesting painting - like a scene from a drama. What will be in the letter? I like the way it is the "moment before." The shape of the chair on the side, gives it a kind of haunting tone, to me. Great one!
ReplyDeleteMy unexpected surprise of the week? An old friend contacted me to say he had been reading my blog, and wanted to buy two of my works and commission a third!
This one is very very nice!!!!! Beautiful composition!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove that letter, it's soooo lovely.
ReplyDeletehope you are well, Lisa!
xxoo
This is lovely, Lisa! Unexpected good things are the best little surprises, aren't they? Mine most often come from my girls.
ReplyDeleteLove this...I so love the colours..red and yellow..beautiful. xoxo Love the checkerboard floor.
ReplyDeleteI like how the mystery of your image is whether the letter or the lady is the unexpected... colors, textures and patterns go a good ways in setting the mood.
